Exhibition Sticks & Stones Gallery, Temple Bar, Dublin – June 2000
Following two incidents when I was knocked from my bike / bicycle I began to look at cars as animals preying on pedestrians and cyclists. The term road rage had entered the vernacular at the same time as 4 x 4 vehicles began to rise in popularity. The cartoon approach to the sculptures was intended to trigger a humorous reaction. There was a mix of stand alone pieces, wall mounted plaques on perspex sheets and some social studies of cars as they may be perceived by an alien life form that mistakenly think that the cars are the masters of the planet served by millions of bipeds.
